Hi all,
We%26#39;ll be in Florence for July and are hoping to get together two 11 years old--the other has just moved to Strasbourg. A quick glance is rather discouraging at easy transport. Any suggestions on the best way to travel?
Thanks,

You%26#39;ve probably figured out that the train is not a great option here, though there may be ways to make it work if nothing else does. AZnd neither Strasbourg nor Florence is exactly a major airline destination...
In theory perhaps the cheapest option would be Ryanair from Frankfurt Hahn (HHN) to Pisa (PSA). The simplest of the not expensive options would probably be EasyJet from Mulhouse/Basel (MLH) to Rome Ciampino (CIA). Of course all of these involve getting to and from airports that are quite a bit away from where you are actually trying to get to/from but those are (more or less) easily solved problems.
I wouldn%26#39;t rule out Air France, Lufthansa or Alitalia. I%26#39;d certainly look at them for RT fares from MLH to either PSA or Florence (FLR). The problen with Florence is that its airport is tiny. Very few flights fly in or out of FLR.
Part of the problem is that you have very little time between now and when you need yo make the trip, and it%26#39;s a really busy travel time, so options may be few. No matter. Play around with these sites and then get back if you need more help with info about getting to/from airports and so on, or if you aren%26#39;t coming up with anything workable.
