driving from Bastia to Ajaccio (and car seat hire)

what is the drive like from Bastia to Ajaccio? found a lovely villa to rent to Ajaccio, but can only get flights to suit to Bastia. We will be travelling with and infant and a toddler so a couple of hours drive with decent car seats will be fine.

This leads me to my second question - are the car-seats that come with rental cars ok? I guess they are supposed to be of a certain standard for EU rules?

It%26#39;s around 70Km from Bastia to Corte along perfectly reasonable roads which should take you around an hour. From Corte to Ajaccio is another 85Km (1.25 hours?) and again it%26#39;s a road in pretty good condition without major terrors, but it is winding and bendy. If the kids get travel sick very easily, be prepared to stop a couple of times.

But it%26#39;s a lovely road and the reason it might take you longer would be getting out to take in the scenery.

I think car-seats are European standard but fitting them properly isn%26#39;t - but then I%26#39;d back someone who fitted car-seats on a regular basis to get it right more often than most.
