Hey Everyone When is Low Season in Paris? I%26#39;d Love to go for My Birthday in Oct. but from what I can tell it%26#39;s a busy time. And if anyone could possibly recommend a Luxury Hotel under 200E that would be great. And I know it ain%26#39;t cheap in Paris, so trying to find a 4 star for 200E may be impossible. But I%26#39;m gonna try.
Thanks, Theresa from Detroit...

Luxury hotels in Paris run from about 500E per night on up. I%26#39;d recommend that you look for quaint and charming with your budget.

October can be considered as Paris low season. But in fact, with its 27 million tourist each year (official number, but some say 100 millions, what seems impossible), Paris is full all year long.
Think of the weather which in not so good in October (very often rainy). But as we had a very bad May, you may be lucky for october.
By the way, I agree with the fact that you won%26#39;t find a luxury hotel for 200€. But it depends on what a luxury hotel is to you. Some 3 and 4 stars hotel are very nice, and can be compared to other countries luxury hotel. As for an example, I had 1 night in a luxury hotel in London a few years ago (they gave me a suite) and I found it just as well as a 2/3 stars in Paris. But maybe it was bad luck.

Thanks for the quick reponses...Yeah,I know I%26#39;m dreaming trying to find a Luxury Hotel that cheap. I did find a 7 nights and airfare for 2600. staying at Prince De Gaulle Hotel. Is that a good deal? And any on this Hotel would be great. I have it on a 24 hold for now.
Thanks again....Theresa

Theresa --
Low season for Paris and Rome doesn%26#39;t start until at least November and sometimes not even then --
THere are many 2* and 3* hotels in Paris that only lack stars because they lack Bars and Restaurants and gyms. The star system is based on amenities of that sort - not on whether the hotel is clean or your bathroom well-equipped.
Try one of the hotels on Ile St. Louis -- there are two small ones that are terrific and you%26#39;d be in one of the best neighbourhoods in the city.

I would consider low season November 1- March 31, with Christmas holidays omitted, as low season. This is coming from someone in the travel business, and I don%26#39;t pretend to be a Paris expert, although I travel there often. September and October in Europe has become very, very popular and October is especially big in Paris due to the fashion shows (again something I know little about). So, I have found hotels don%26#39;t bring rates down until November in Paris. Airfares are at their cheapest in the dead of winter, early January- March 31.
However, October is still less expenisive than summer, the weather can be nice and not chilling cold yet, and therefore, that is when I have chosen to go as well!!
Maybe a description of the type hotel you are looking for will help you get some good suggestions. Luxury near 200E means you may need to comprimise location, as there are a few nice places in Montparnasse (not that it is a bad area) that are less central, and therefore a good value. I think if location is very important, then you will need to look at a nice boutique style hotel in the 6th, St. Germain area. This area is very central, has a nice upscale, yet charming feel to it.

I know American Airlines considers %26quot;low%26quot; season to be after Oct. 20.
Friends of mine tried the Hotel Mayfair (4-star but not a 4-star luxe) and they got it for about $200. They liked it.

Thanks for all the info!! I noticed a huge decline in prices in Nov. compared to Oct. I%26#39;ve decided to go 2nd week of Nov. if possible.
I have been inquiring about Hotel prices through i-escape.com. Each request for rates have been returned very fast, and with better prices than anywhere else I%26#39;ve foundonline. Though You must register, Password and all that stuff, it seems like a great website and I like what I see.
Thanks for the reference on Mayflower Hotel, I%26#39;m going to check into it.

By the way, during the last two years I have never paid more than $400 for R/T airfare from JFK to CDG during the low season.
