My husband and I will be travelling from London to Paris this summer on the Eurostar , We will stay in Paris just overnight. We are looking for a hotel with air conditioning that accomodates 3 people in a room close the Gare du Nord. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I would not choose to overnight there, Paris is small enough that you could stay in a much nicer area that is only minutes away by cab.

The Mercure Terminus Nord opposite the station, back in April they were in the middle of refurbishing rooms to include A/C. Its a good area to stay in with bus links to the centre of Paris or walking distance if you want to stay fit!

Hi Door60, I agree with Joan1, there is no need to stay near Gare du Nord unless you really need to be there at 4.30 am for a train out of Paris. It is so close to the centre by cab and metro/RER that otherwise you should stay near the Seine in the centre so you can walk around at night and then catch a cab or a train to Gare du Nord in the morning.

OK, then I did not kno what arondissment the station was in. Basically, we want to go to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and a ride down the Seine. Which hotel then -- must have a/c (I%26#39;ve been to Paris in the summer with no a/c !!!)

Hi Dorrie, sorry but please give your budget per night (for 2?) in Euros.

We stayed at the New Hotel which is literally out the door of the Gare du Nord and across the street. We even used the luggage cart from the train station to wheel our bags across the street to the hotel. It was very convenient, clean, has air-condition, and has rooms that sleep up to a maximum of 4 people. As an additional plus, there is a metro entrance just outside the front door of the hotel. It really was an ideal place for a short stay. I know there are much better areas to spend your time. But with the metro right outside the door, you can go anywhere in Paris very quickly and cheaply.
Like you, we were in Paris only for an afternoon and overnight before we left out the next morning. We found the convenience to be exactly what we were looking for. You can book the hotel on www.venere.com and using discount code 9FEG2VF will get you a 4% discount on your stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for an overnight stay.

I do not want to spend more than 235 euros per night.

This is a nice hotel with A/C near the Pompidou Centre in the Marais that will leave you with almost 100 Euros of your room budget for your dinner

Or this more trendy one that will cost you 220 a night that is a bit further east in the Marais but both are very central

That%26#39;s some budget!
At the Terminus Nord I suggested in my last post I can get two nights for two people for 217 euros - and that%26#39;s a quality hotel rated 4 stars by TA. No wonder people from the USA don%26#39;t think London is expensive!!

So, Faux, would you say that the Beauborg is center to the Louvre, Seine , Eiffel Tower?
Pari-fanatic, I know our budget sounds like a lot for an overnight stay, but before my son was born, my husband %26amp; I travelled much more economiccally to Europe. Now, we%26#39;re a little older, we take much smaller vacations as far as time is concerned, and we can afford a little more, so why not?.
