Visiting Opera Garnier

I am not a culture vulture and have no wish to attend an operatic performance. However, I would love to see the inside of the building itself.

Can I just turn up or is pre-booking necessary? A tour in English could be beneficial. Sorry I could not find any refernce to tours on the various websites - maybe I%26#39;m just getting tired.

We just got back and took an English tour last Sat. They also offer English tours on other days. The tour was excellent. We learned a lot about the place and the Garniers which we would not have learned otherwise. We booked ahead because when our concergie called we were told the tour was Thurs. at 3:30 and when we got there we found out it was an hour earlier.Enjoy!

Guided Visits

The guided visit* includes a general tour of the theatre with a presentation detailing its history, its architecture and the different activities that take place within it.

Paris walks offers excellent tours of the opera house, 2+ hours for 10€. It%26#39;s a smaller group and you learn quite a bit about the history.
