Money exchange

Hi Everyone,

I am leaving for Paris in less than 2 weeks. Does anyone know the best place with the best exchange rate ( US dollars to Euros ).? Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated, and actual places with addresses would be wonderful!

Thank You so very much,

Robyn

P. S. Some great restaurant choices would also be welcomed !

Hi,

I don%26#39; if this answer will be OK for you, but each tume I travel out of France, I find the Best exchange rate by using my Visa in a ATM machine. As to avoid too much charge, I use it just once, after having calculated the amount I need for my stay.

For the restaurants, it really depends on where you%26#39;re staying, and on what is a great restaurant for u.

I%26#39;ll second the vote for ATM%26#39;s. Most of the bureaus d%26#39;exchange charge a commision so you lose twice.

Bankrate.com has some articles about the use of credit cards while traveling abroad. One thing that I read that I thought was helpful in one of the articles was that the credit card company sends these little paper booklets that are your %26#39;credit card agreement%26#39; from time to time. Get a magnifiying glass and read through until it tells you how much they charge you in fees for ATM transactions and currency conversions, etc. I must admit I never look at these little pamphlets when they come in the mail. Now I want to. Someone made the point that using a credit card to get money from an ATM is getiing a cash advance on the card and they start charging you interest. That person suggested loading the credit card with money (essentially putting more money on the card than you owe so it shows up as a credit.. it won%26#39;t earn interest but it won%26#39;t be a cash advance either..) Good luck - I think it is a very complicated issue, money when traveling.
