Going to Paris in July and need accommodations for 5

My wife, my daughter (18), my brother and his daughter (18) and myelf are going to Paris for three days in mid July. We want to be able to see all the wonderful art and such and think we want to stay somewhere near the city center like in districts 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 (I think.) I am open to suggestions. It is the first time in Paris for everyone but me and it has been 30 years for me.

We either need two rooms or an apartment. Would like to stay in something clean, safe and affordable but not necessarily a large chain hotel. Suggestions? Thanks, Luke

Hi Luke, you would probably find an apartment was not good value for money just for 3 days as most only rent on a weekly basis. You should look for a hotel that has triple rooms and there are quite a few in the central areas you mentioned. It is better to state a total price (in Euros preferably) that you would like to spend per night for the two rooms, as that will greatly affect the recommendations. Also, as you will be there in July, you will probably want air conditioning which is hard to come across in budget hotels (if that was the price range you had in mind).

Les Citadines is a chain of apartment hotels that may be a practical solution for you.

Otherwise, a nice, friendly, family-run hotel that is very clean and exceptionally located would be the Lindbergh on the rue Chomel in the 7th, on the border of the 6th.

The Relais du Louvre, www.relaisdulouvre.com and e-mail at contact@relaisdulouvre.com has connecting rooms both triplaes and doubles . they also have an apartment with a kitchen and washer, etc. Hotel is in the 1st just around from the Louvre. The staff responds very quickly to e-mails. You can check it out on their website and also on www,parisby.com which list hotels by district and gives excellent information and pictures.
