HELP - What area in Paris?

I am trying to book my daughter a weekend away with her boyfriend for her birthday at the end of June. She really wants to go to Paris - but there are so many areas to choose from - where should I pick? Ideally she would enjoy being in a lively area with bars, shops and touristy sites within easy distance. If anyone can suggest anywhere I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Definitely chose either Bastille or Le Marais, where your daughter will find as much bars, pubs and discos as she wants. Bastille is not so much %26quot;touristy%26quot; but you know, in Paris, going from a place to another is very easy thanks to the metro. Le Marais is more central, not so far from l%26#39;Ile de al Cité (the historical heart of Paris), but the bars are also very touristy.

So if she wants a place to discover the real Parisian nights, pick Bastille (or Grands Boulevards, which is another neighbourhood), and if she prefers to be closer to the main Paris attractions, pick le Marais

Thank you for that. Its not really the discos and pubs that she is interested in, more the pavement cafes, shops etc. Also will she be able to access the touristy places easily from either of these areas? Sorry to be a pain but your help is really appreciated.

Also consider staying in the Latin Quarter (5th district) and the St. Germain des Pres district (6th). They offer what you described.

We stayed @ the Millenium Paris Opera - on Boulevard Hausmann - next to Galeries Lafayette %26amp; Printemps. We could walk to alot of attractions and the subway was right across the street.

RoissyBus from CDG takes you straight to the Opera for good airport shuttle. The hotel is good as well.
