We are two females in our 30%26#39;s traveling to Nice for the first time next weekend. We are staying 1 week and have no idea of what to see or do. Last minute vacation with no time to do research. I guess we consider ourselves foodies on a budget. Any suggestions? Does anyone know of a cooking class?

You will have a great time. You must pop into Hotel Negresco one evening for a drink. It%26#39;s definitely worth a look and just to say that you have been in there. In the evening wander down to the old town where the flower market is. All the restarants have their tables outside and there are many restaurants to choose from. Also they are not as expensive as you would think.
If the weather is good it%26#39;s even nice just walking along the promenade, stopping off for a drink or something to eat along the way.
Take a train from Nice station to Monaco for one day. It takes about 15 minutes to get there and well worth a visit. Also catch a train to Cannes for the day, fantastic shops (especially shoe shops).
My friend and I also took the boat trip from Nice Harbour to St Tropez and we had a lovely day. It cost around 40 euros, but well worth it as it is quite a long boat trip. We had a lovely lunch of mussels along the front and sat and people watched for about 2 hours plus did some shopping. There is also quite a good market there too.
I am sure you will love it. Just be aware of the roadworks still going on along Jean Medicin. They have been going on now for quite some time.
Sorry don%26#39;t know of any cookery classes there but hopefully someone else will be able to help you with that question.
Have a great time. I love it there and hope to go back again for my third visit soon.

Hi there, I%26#39;ll be going to Nice next month and my fiance%26#39; and I were thinking of taking this cooking class. It sounds really interesting because she also takes you around the markets and tells you all about the wines and foods of Nice. Enjoy your trip! :)

Thanks for all the advice. We are actually looking to take a boat ride to St. Tropez but the one company I found does not offer it until mid June. What company did you use? On the cooking class forfront, we are familiar with Rosa%26#39;s cooking class and market tour but at 200e for the half day and 290e for the full day it is a little out of our price range.

Hi
Sorry I can%26#39;t remember the name of the boat company we used to get to St Tropez. We just walked down to the harbour on the day of our arrival and saw the trip advertised and booked a trip for the following day. We were there at the end of May last year so they were definitely running then.
Good luck

Flachick,
If you are thinking of doing the cooking class, I would book now. Rosa is already booked for the next few weeks. I had already read alot about her cooking classes but it was a little out of our price range. We decided to splurge and now she is booked up.

Try Alain Llorca%26#39;s cooking class in charming Mougins:

Check out previous replies - especially from Nicelife - he explains different ways of getting to St Tropez from Nice.
I am going in July %26amp; will be taking his advice about getting there.
Go to St Raphael by train %26amp; 50 Minute boat ride to St Tropez. This way you can get into St Tropez much earlier + if going on Saturday there is a street market - I hear !
Boat from Nice to St Tropez well over 2 Hours. Youre choice.

St Raphael - St Tropez: Plan B (Everyone needs a Plan B!)
I checked the most recent timetable for the boat St Raph%26#39; - St Tropez and crossings per day are looking none too frequent! Therefore Plan B up sleave - the bus that runs between St Raph%26#39; and St Trop%26#39;
Ligne : St Raphaël - St Tropez (N° 104)
Départs Gare Routière de St Raphaël - quai 1
Départs St Raphaël, du Lundi au Samedi : 06h30 - 08h30 - 10h05 - 12h15 - 13h30 - 15h45 - 17h40 - 19h35
Départs St Raphaël, Dimanche et Jours Fériés : 08h00 - 10h20 - 12h45 - 13h45 - 17h15 - 19h00
I assume it also comes back.
Cheers!
