Hotel With a View

Bonjour all TAers!

Please help me to find a special hotel, preferably with a view, certainly centrally located, for an overnight stay in July (don%26#39;t worry - after Bastille Day! ) for about 24 hours.

I am bringing my 70 year old mother, (who is in great shape, by the way), for a surprise overnight visit for her birthday before we continue on our way to visit relatives in Norway.

Neither she nor I have been to Paris and I would like to make this a special visit for her. I would hope to find a hotel with striking views from the room or a public terrace to enjoy a view of the Eiffel Tower, preferably, or the Seine or the city at large at the very least.

Prefer a maximum cost of Euro 200 or about 250 USD, if that%26#39;s available. But I will entertain the idea of anything under Euro 300 or about 375 USD.

I know this will but whet our appetite for this beautiful city and I look forward to hearing of your recommendations and personal experiences.

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k62020… I think it is important to heed the comment that even a hotel that boasts of tower view can%26#39;t possibly have them from all their rooms, so you will need to make expectations very clear when booking.

Lulutoo - thank you for the thread! Invaluable information!

Some of the hotels mentioned there have come up on my radar - I hope to hear from some other folks as to some places they were particularly pleased with or that are not the major hotels like the Westin or Hilton.

If any other suggestions are out there I would appreciate hearing from them!
