We have just booked a long weekend in Paris arriving at 10.00am at CDG airport on Friday 15th July. We didn%26#39;t realise this was Bastille Day! Is this going to cause us problems getting from the airport into Paris centre? Our hotel is the Neuville which is in the 17th arrondisement. I believe this is near where the parade is held too.
Will the Metro stations be closed, and will there be taxis available. Do you think it would be best to pre-book transport? Any help would be much appreciated. This is our first ever trp to Paris.

Don%26#39;t worry with transport, 14th of July will just be a holliday like other, and can be comparable with sundays.
You are lucky because as it is a Friday, Paris will be empty for the week end as many Parisians will be out of the city. It will be less crowdy.
Some may say yes, but I don%26#39;t think you have to book a transport. Just use the RER (cheapest way) or take a taxi (about 50 € to get you to your hotel).
As far as the parade is concerned, the time you will arrive it will be finished (you arrive at 10, say 1 hour to get off the plane, pick up your luggage etc.. so you will be in the 17th at around 12)
Have a pleasant trip

Thanks for the advice Fran.
Sorry to appear ignorant but what is RER?

Sorry to hi-jack your post but just noticed you %26#39;re wondering what RER is.
It%26#39;s a fast underground train service similar to the metro, but going further out to the outskirts of the city (and CDG airport), and stopping at fewer stations.
http://www.ratp.fr/ is the website of the Paris travel network - click on %26#39;international passengers%26#39; at the top and you will get most of the site in English. There is a link on the left hand side to the RER map - it will appear as a pop up.
Hope that helps.

It does help Kebabs, thank you. :-)

Two things:
First, if you are arriving on the 15th July as your post says, all that will be left of the Bastille Day celebrations will be a few hangovers. Bastille Day is July 14th.
Second, to get to the Hotel de Neuville on rue Verniquet, close to the Porte de Courcelles, you can either take the RER B line to St. Michel-Notre Dame station, and change there to the RER C line. Take any train going to Pontoise or Argenteuil but NOT toward Versailles or St. Quentin-en-Yvelines and get off at Pereire Levallois station (the 10th stop), just a few yards from your hotel.
Much easier, IMO, would be to take the AirFrance coach to Porte Maillot and then a taxi for the short (about 1.5 mile) ride to your hotel or take the previously mentioned RER C line one stop to Pereire Levallois.

You can use the RER line to take you (relatively) quickly to and from the center of Paris, or you can use Métro line 3 from the Pereire Levallois station.
