Help help help with Paris hotels...

I know there are endless reviews of hotels on this forum but having gne through some of them I am even more confused. My sister is turning 40 this weekend and her husband wants to take her to Paris for a few days and I got the job of booking it!.

Anyhow am looking for a central hotel (near shops or some sights) with good quality food (she loves her food) and which is somewhat traditional....please help...and any recommendations on restaurants is also welcomed. Also hotel cannot blow budget so noting like 300 euros per night please. Merci merci merci en avance.

actually along the rue de Rivoli or near the Notre Dame would be great....

Hotel de Fleurie and Hotel Le Clement, both in a lively area on the Left Bank.

www.clement-moliere-paris-hotel.com

www.france-hotel-guide.com lists several. Hotel du College de France gets good reviews here but they might all be full at the last minute.

Many thanks...they are not going until October but the preent has to be handed over at the weekend.

Have also heard that Le Quartier Latin is a good area - any recoomendations there?

|||

hi not sure about the latin quarter but you could try looking at some places here. we got a decent place there last year in the centre while on tour. i have heard through my folks that the arcadia opera was good as its central and near a lot of stuff, but transporrt is pretty good in paris.

Hi steeve_ooo.

Isn%26#39;t it the second time (in 2 posts) you%26#39;re reffering to destinia.com ?

Sounds like an add ?

Go to google.com and type in %26quot;hotel lotti Paris%26quot;.

It is just steps from the rue De Rivoli, with the Louvre and Notre Dame nearby.

I did a fast check and a superior room was 280 Euro, and the standard smaller rooms were less.

I%26#39;ve never stayed there but I walked into the lobby and chatted with the manager 3 or 4 years ago. It is a nice place.

Good luck

Many thanks to you all - appreciated. Will let you know how they get on.

October is very much high season in Paris; so you%26#39;ll need a hotel booking soon.

Two recommendations on the Left Bank: the Madison, on the Blvd. St-Germain, right across from the church, and the Ste-Beuve, near the Luxembourg Gardens. Neither has a restaurant; you%26#39;ll find those mostly in the larger chain hotels. But Paris has restaurants here, there, and everywhere--easy to find a number near a hotel.

A traditional hotel on Rue de Rivoli almost next door to Le Meurice and Angelinas, with a view over the Tuileries Gardens, Louvre, Eiffle Tower, etc. in your price range is the Hotel Brighton which has recently been renovated. The Metro stop Tuileries is just across the street(Rivoli).
