Hello,
I will be going back to Paris in a week,after three years, and wanted to stay at the Four Seasons. I checked their website and the rates per night are just under $1000. I feel depressed now because I had hopes of staying there. I stayed there three years ago on my first trip to Paris,but I seriously doubt the rates were that high. I am thinking around $600 a night. I feel depressed because I cannot afford that this time around. I guess I have gotten poorer. Oh well.. now I am depressed. Or maybe I am just being whiny,but still I feel disappointed.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Downsizing may allow you to experience a more French personal service and get a better feel for the city. There are many wonderful hotels in different areas for you to discover. I%26#39;m sure you will still have a fantastic time.

I wish I could be as depressed as you are to have $600 to put on a room.

I can understand a disappointment in not getting to stay where you want, but the vast majority of travelers don%26#39;t have upwards of $500 just for their hotel room. So consider that blessing in your life.
I wish for your brand of poor!

If you were my child I would send you to your room to count your blessings.

I can%26#39;t believe someone actually created this post. Shall we all cry now or later for the poor, deprived child.

This is a joke, right??

So you%26#39;re depressed for not being able to afford a night at the Four Seasons? Join the club - I%26#39;m depressed because I was thinking of purchasing that hotel.......actually the entire chain of hotels.........and found out that I can%26#39;t afford it.

Oh, Shoesy! I am SO sorry. How do you bear it? Likely there are support groups for such?
|||
Cybee - Thank you for commiserating with me. I%26#39;ll do my best to get through these hard times, and maybe I%26#39;ll look into that support group thing you suggested.

Click the %26quot;Paris Hotels%26quot; link on the left side of this page. If you have a budget of up to $600 a night, you%26#39;ll find some incredible choices.
True the prices have gone up in the last three years, but I have no doubt you%26#39;ll be equally happy with some other hotels -- don%26#39;t be too depressed.
You might like the Hotel Regina, directly across from the Tuilleries and the Louvre. It%26#39;s quite a bit less, but we enjoyed it on our first trip to Paris. As you probably know, unless you like to feel REALLY pampered on vacation, which some people do, it%26#39;s all about the location, and if you find a good 4-5 star hotel in the area you like, I have no doubt you%26#39;ll have just as good of a time as you did 3 years ago.
