train Nice to Turin?

Hi Trip Advisors,

Any idea of price of tickets by train from Nice to Turin? Best route? Have tried trenitalia and sncf websites but can%26#39;t seem to get this info.

Cheapest/best way to do the trip? Train? Plane?

Both sites can be a royal pain when it comes to trying to ferret out information anbout international trips, especially when they are not on highly travelled routes.

I was able to persuade Trenitalia to divulge information about one possible timing:

Dep. Nice Ville 10:05 Arr. Savona 12:31 Train #139

Dep. Savona 12:43 Arr. Torino Porta Nuova 15:00 Train #10186

Trenitalia is showing an advance purchase discount fare of 15€90, full fare 20€90 one way in second class.

There are other options, but no direct trains that I can see. Possible routings seem to inviolve at least one change in any of Ventimiglia, Cuneo, Savona or Genoa.

This is probably not a trip you really need to book in advance. I%26#39;d be half inclined to wait until I got to Nice and then sort out the best way to get there at the Nice station depending on when you want to leave/arrive.

If you already know the date and time you%26#39;re interested in I%26#39;ll see if I can find anything more definite. But I don%26#39;t think you can make the trip in anything less than 4.5 hours in any case.
