Can anyone tell me something about this hotel. We will be staying for two nights in late June. Is it near some nice restaurants and shopping? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello from Detroit!
Stayed at The Bristol Hotel in April and I thought it was very nice. The Staff spoke English and Were very Friendly. I believe it%26#39;s family owned. And the Restaurant in the Hotel was Fantastic. The Train Station is right down the Street. And Across the Street is the Best Bakery. I couldn%26#39;t wait for them to open to buy some Sweets and Sandwiches. There are all sorts of Stores and Restaurants along the street that the Hotel is on. It is a main street through the City. It also is surrounded by a Wall that%26#39;s been there forever. I really Loved this little Town and would Love to get back there soon.
PS Breakfast was included with the Room, and though there wasn%26#39;t much it was very nice....

Let Me know if I can help with any ?

Thanks Theresa for the info....sounds really nice and I am really looking forward to this trip. We are in Paris for 5 nights before getting to Avignon and then on to Nice for 3 more nights. I will look forward to eating at the restaurant at the Hotel and can%26#39;t wait for the yummies at the bakery......my favorite thing!!!! If there is something special we should see while in Avignon - please let me know.

I stayed at the Bristol May 23. I agree that it was very nice, and well located, right on the main avenue, just down the street from the TI. We were a little worried about noise, but I never heard anything at night. LOTS of shopping available within a short distance from the hotel. Of course see the castles. But we just enjoyed setting out in the cafes at the square and watching people. We took a walk by the river too. Very nice. There is also a little train that will take you around town if you don%26#39;t want to walk a lot.

We stayed just one night at the Bristol in May and were very satisfied. We arrived at the TGV station and got the bus in and the bus stop was not 5 mins from the hotel so very convenient. It is a short walk to the Palace and you pass through an area of many restaurants. Avignon is a very pleasant place but I would not want much more than a day unless you are going to venture out to the wine country.
