We are going to Paris for a week in August with our 7 y/o son. Any suggestions on affordable apartments to stay in, family-friendly restaurants and things to do that would interest a kid and adults. We would really like a microwave and small fridge if possible.
Thanks

Hello,
I think your plan to get an apartment is excellant, especially with a child!
There are many posts on Paris with children , and on renting an apartment. Type the key words in the %26quot; search %26quot; box on left hand side of this page. You will have tons of good info at your finger tips.
Finding this web site will be surprisingly helpful as there are many good experts here who have been and are, very helpful. I used recommendations and info from this board when I took my son( 14) tto Paris last year, and the hotels I used( tow of them) were very good and as represented.
I also got many tips on how to see things without big waits( NEVER enter the Lourve through the Pyrimid entrance, line up the longest there!) and found out about a few different attractions( the Catacombs, great for older children, many a bit to scarey for your child, too young?)
Have fun!
( Useful wierd tip, bring little packs of ketchup in your purse as some places do not serve it with fries , like most of North American kids like) . Fries however are very common with chicken and steaks so your child will never starve!

For things to do, take a look at the Paris with Children forum on the bonjourparis.com web site--a long thread with good suggestions.
