Hi, bit of a weather query for the locals:
1) We%26#39;re heading to Paris at end of August for few nights, and my grandmother who has never been is very anxious about the weather, so am trying to find out - what is the weather generally like at very end of August?
2) Does anyone know any good weather websites covering Paris where I can check on 7 day forecasts before I leave ~(so I know what to pack!)
Thanks in advance! :)

Hi scared angel (I never knew that angels could be scared ?)
Checking the weather in Paris every morning on my computer at least 2 months before departure is also one of my favorite rituals (worst thing: I actually mean it !)
These two sites are the best as they give a 10-days prevision.

(I have plenty more if you want)
Count on the weather to be absolutely lovely and warm.

The weather in Europe is at is best (when it comes to beeing sunny and not rainy) between late july and beggining of september, thats why most europeans have their hollydays then, In sweden we had from early june to mid august before, but the last years it has changed to late june to late august, just becuase of the weather, for the government to do such a change I guess they have checked statistics for the period, so it looks bright for you, even tough ofcause you can never know 200%.
Best regards
Emma

The end of August can be absolutely sizzling, with major hunidity. Be sure you have a hotel with a/c so you can rest up for a while if the heat gets to you (not all indoor tourist sites have a/c) and sleep well at night.

Thanks for all the advice and the weblinks!
I%26#39;ve been at the start of August about 3 years ago and it was indeed sizzling...I was secretly hoping it may be a little cooler by the end of Aug (for my grandmother%26#39;s sake - as she will want to walk around and see the sites).
I%26#39;m lead to believe our hotel room has A/C - if not, shall have to invest in a hoard of mini hand-fans ;) *joke!*
Thanks again!

Extended heat waves, lasting anywhere from a couple to several days are not at all uncommon during summer. may occur anytime from mid-June through mid-September---but July and August is the most likely. period.. Temperatures can go well up into the high-90ºs during the day and may not drop below the mid-80ºs at night. During these periods, trying to sleep with windows open offers no relief and only serves to allow more hot air into the room. These extended heat waves can%26#39;t be predicted.
A hotel room with air conditioning is simply good insurance

You need to confirm that your hotel has A/C. Then you need to look at reviews of your hotel on this site and see if any reviewers complained about the quality of the A/C. This is essential.

What is the weather like now, and maybe into the next couple of weeks? Of course, like all forecasters, this can be guesswork...

August is hot, get ac and make sure it works. Your grandmother is not in the age bracket to be baking away. I see you are from the UK so that also says you are not used to excessive heat( over 80 or 85) .
Touring around in the day can be hot and unpleasant, and without a cool room at night you will get sick.
Please, CONFIRM your hotel has ac. While some may argue that it is not always nessesary, , the fact is, it often is, and if one is not used to heat then it can be stifling.
I find also that since I live near the coast, I am used to a lot more %26quot; air movement, breezes etc%26quot; and so cities can seem so %26quot;stuffy%26quot;

Dear MarylinKK
We had a terrible spring in northern Europe, cold and rainy. But now it seems to turn paris are puching 20 and sun is accuring, you cant trust 7 days forcast but according to them temperatures will rise and hit about 26 C on saturday/sunday. So hopefully the weather will be very nice, ironically Im going to Corsica tomorrow to get some sun I thought but it looks like its going to be colder there than in the south...:/
Best Regards
Emma
