Anyone know the best way to prebook the Louvre for July? Also is there an audio guide of the highlights these days? There was none the last time we were there. If not is there anyway to prebook a tour of the Highlights?
I have waited in lines in the past and we are trying to avoid what we can by prebooking. BTW the Louvre site is very hard to read online. The print seems very faint. I tried AOL, Explorer, and another and it all showed with the same very small and hard to read in color print.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I saw some audioguides there, but we didn%26#39;t want that. Didn%26#39;t see anything on prebooking, but we bought our museum pass in the morning at the Arc de Triomphe where there was no line, so when we got to the Louvre, we had our pass and just walked by everyone.

You can pre-purchase general admission tickets to Musée du Louvre on-line and at FNAC stores in Paris...and I believe at a kiosk down in the Carousel du Louvre mall outside. All will add their own fee to the purchase price (FNAC 9,30 € vs. 8,50 €) But to the best of my knowledge, Individual visitors cannot pre-reserve Audio-guides (5 €--several languages)

As for your problem with viewing the web site on your computer, I just accessed the Louvre web site and noticed no difference in appearance of the site or the print / fonts. It is possible that your computer is messin%26#39; with you and somehow changed its font, brightness or contrast settings for your monitor all by itself (adolescent elves inside the case sometimes get bored easily)..or there may be some temporary %26#39;glitch%26#39; with your ISP.

The English audioguide that I used (this was the week before Easter) wasn%26#39;t a highlights tour. There didn%26#39;t seem to be any other options for English audioguides.
I bought a book at the shop called %26#39;Destination Louvre - A Guided Tour%26#39;. It was E7.50. It isn%26#39;t the most recent book, but in IMO the more recent tour book was more heavily focussed on the paintings. As I%26#39;d just been in Egypt %26amp; Jordan I was really keen to see the Egyptology section and Islamic Arts sections, but if you are more interested in the paintings then the tour book that you probably want I think is just called %26#39;La Guide%26#39;. From memory it was E8.00.
I found the book very useful and it%26#39;s also a good souvenir of my trip.

Thank you all. I notice there are some prebooking sites here but they are high and I only have a few days before we leave this trip not enough for mailing. Now that I know I can pick them up in Paris we will.
I wish I could figure out how to see their site better. WIll work on that one .

Hi.
There is also an automated self-service ticket machine in the main entrance hall of the Louvre, which is quick and easy to use.
