I have not looked at either SNCF or Trenitalia for either of these timings, but both the German and Austrian rail sites www.bahn.de and www.oebb.at agree on them. (Of course they may well be using the same database.) Believe it or not these sites are much easier to use to find timetables for strange routings. I%26#39;m not sure if you could get SNCF or Trenitalia to admit to the existence of them. If you wanted to check, the best way to do so would probably be to look for each bit of each routing separately.

The Ventimiglia to Savona leg of the second option appears to require a reservation. I%26#39;m not sure I understand why, since every train I have listed appears to stop at every station along the route.

There%26#39;s an error in the second routing. The train to Savona leaves Ventimiglia at 12:58 not 12:03. (Just wanted to see if you were paying attention!)
