The Batobus [www.batobus.com] is a water taxi going up and down the Seine. A ticket is good all day. The web site [and brochurre you will be given] gives ideas on what to do, where to eat, etc. Click on the stops.

If you wish a narrated bus tour, google for L%26#39;Open Tour.

You can meet up for 2-hour informative walks - schedule at

…compuserve.com/homepages/pariswalking/

Try to find all the gardens in your guidebook...

Do some shopping...

Take a cooking class....

|||

Go see the Sacre Coeur - a beautiful view of the city. I think it was Rue Magenta that had a ton of shops.

|||

It%26#39;s pretty sad to be going to Paris and not knowing what to do...

Use that old fashioned thing, how is it called, ah yes, a guide book... It%26#39;s even available on the net, now, mind you: here at TA, or Fodor%26#39;s, or Lonely Planet, Time Out, etc.

Thanks for the good advice, of coarse I have a guide book and will use it as much as possible. My point I was trying to make is.....I was nervous going around by myself. But most posts indicate I have nothing to worry about.......so i shouldn%26#39;t be such a chicken.

HI tucanchick, you will have no trouble at all filling the day by yourself and the only problem you will have is deciding which sights will fit in to your itinerary - which your guidebook will assist you in deciding. Make sure you see Sainte Chapelle, the upper chapel is so beautiful.

Tucanchick - I was in the same boat exactly 2 years ago. My husband was working during the day , and I was on my own. I ended up loving it. I was able to do and see whatever I wanted at my own pace. Tomorrow night we%26#39;re flying to Paris again, and starting from Monday I%26#39;ll be on my own for a few days. I can%26#39;t wait!!!
