Hi all, I new on the travel forum. Thank you for the great advice already posted here. Would you please tell me the best way for the three of us to get to Charles De Gaulle airport from the Opera area on Tuesday, July 11th, 2006? We are going to be staying at the Hotel Mondial, located at 5 Cite Bergere, Paris 75009. This hotel is in the 9th Arrondissement. Travel writer Rick Steve’s seems to recommend airport shuttle vans. However, most people on this forum seem to recommend the train from the station Guard Du Nord. My goal is to have a safe, reliable transportation so that we do not miss the plane back to London. We are then catching the 4:30 PM flight back to the U.S.A. on the same day from LHR. There will be too much stress already on this day. Thank for you help

The Roissy Bus goes from the Opera area to CDG.

For the Roissy Bus, walk down to Bd. Poissoniere and take the 20 Bus to the Auber stop. The 20 stop is right to the left of the Roissy stop on this map:

We stay a couple of blocks away . Our favorite local restaurant is Le Vaudeville, on rue Vivienne across the street from the Bourse. Also enjoy ice cream coupes at La Creperie, which is right inside the Passage des Panoramas.

we did RoissyBus too - on a lazy Sunday morning.
We timed it so we%26#39;d have x4 hours at the airport to check in then - lounge / eat / duty free.
We spent ALL FOUR HOURS waiting in various lines -
first for airline check-in, then the worst was PassControl - it was OUT of control, then again to get on shuttle bus to take us to the plane. We had zero time for eat/drink or even bathroom.
So you may want to time accordingly.

Thanks for the information so far. I do not speak French. Also I will only be in Paris for four nights i.e. not much time to learn the area. I%26#39;d like to have my airport transportation prepared to lessen the last day worry. The bus might be unpredicable with traffic, but maybye a shuttle van? I looked at one company and they recommended leaving just two hours before the flight. So that seems cutting it short.

You could always take a cab. Cost about 45€ or so.

It was 45 minutes to the airport by the bus, direct. It%26#39;s similar to freeway traffic so it went fast.
I can%26#39;t believe a 2 hr suggestion - we would have still been in PASS Control then.

We took a cab at 8 AM from CDG to the 9th (during rush hour) and it took 1 1/2 hrs. It cost us 63E. We took the shuttle from the 9th to CDG at 9 am and it cost us 16E each. That took us half an hour. I recommend the shuttle ... less stressful than a bus. They left us off at our terminal.
