Hi Keith -
Probably the least expensive way to get to Lourdes from London would be EasyJet from LGW to Toulouse and train (about two hours I think) from there.

www.voyages-sncf.com
Can%26#39;t help with the hotel question but if you use both the search functions on this page you will surely find some good info. No doubt others will be along to help shortly too.
Good luck!

I forgot about %26quot;pedal and pray.%26quot; Good suggestion. And Pau is a lot closer to Lourdes also - only about a half hour by train.

Good evening,
To travel from London to Lourdes at low cost is sure take a plane landing at Pau%26#39;s airport. Then take a taxi directly to Lourdes. Best book a taxi coming from Lourdes for the two following reasons : 1) he knows Lourdes and its surroundings (he could recommand you some interresting place to visit) 2) he makes a transffer go and back for your assistance.
I can recommand you to write at the following address : info_resa@taxi-lourdes-pyrenees.com. The taxi driver speaks fluent english.
I recommand you Le petit Languedoc as a reasonnable hotel. The owners are very friendly.
Best regards.

If you can manage to stay longer than 2 days, then please do. You cannot hope to get the true atmosphere of Lourdes in such a short time. Don%26#39;t leave it too late to book accommodation as most hotels will already be full for the pilgrimmage season. The Arcade is a very nice hotel, about 15 minutes walk to the santuary.and a little cheaper than hotels of the same standard nearer to the sanctuary.
