Loire Valley questions

Hi--I posted this in the Loire Valley forum already but haven%26#39;t gotten a response. I hope someone can help!

My family will be staying in a town called Ferrier-Larcon, near Loches, in the Loire Valley in early July. We have two kids, ages 3 and 6. I%26#39;m looking for suggestions in two areas:

1. Good places to eat. Mostly we%26#39;ll be eating with the kids, so good doesn%26#39;t have to mean expensive. Since we%26#39;ll be renting a house, we won%26#39;t eat out at every meal (so suggestions for good markets are also welcome).

2. Fun things to do with the kids. We plan to visit a chateau or two and the troglodyte dwellings, but does anything else come to mind? We enjoy just walking around, taking in the sights of a town, but the kids will want something geared toward them, such as playgrounds.

Thanks!
