I want to take my husband on a short stay later in the year but wondered if there were any %26#39;budget%26#39; or cheaper hotels with more of a modern feel rather than typically French (is this possible?) but that has a special/quirky/romantic essence. We only just got married.
Looking for something quite central to all the sites.
We will be doing the usual siteseeing as well as taking in as much art as possible.
Thanks for any advice

Hotel des Canettes is a two-star in the heart of St. Germain. It looks much more modern than the usual, especially the breakfast room photo. www.venere.com/hotel

Most of the trendy hotels are fairly new, or newly renovated, and thus likely to be more on the expensive side. Venere.com is certainly a good place to start; you could also try parishotels.com.

Try Hotel Mayet for affordable and modern artsy. I like the location, as it is very neighborhood, but still a short walk to where the action is.

I%26#39;ve been watching the very favorable reviews on Hotel Valadon for several months and have thought about trying it sometime. Modern, central, good price (includes breakfast)--might be worth a look.
