Paris with a car park...

Hi,

We%26#39;re going over to France in the summer and taking the car as we plan to do a tour around Brittany and Normandy. We quite fancy going to Paris for a couple of days and want to stay in a nice (but not too expensive) hotel with a car park in or near the hotel.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

Thanks

its%26#39; *really* hard to find a hotel with on-site parking.

We usually park in the Kleber public parking, on Av. Kleber on the Trocadero end (as opposed to the Etoile end) in the 16th.

It%26#39;s an underground car park (be *very* careful parking, as it%26#39;s very close quarters), but the daily rates are not too exorbitant if you pre-pay for a day or two in advance -- you also then have 24-hour to your car...and it%26#39;s clean (I%26#39;ve actually seen them washing the painted floors), well-lit, and patrolled by CCTV and security personnel.

I wouldn%26#39;t want to go for a stroll at 3 a.m., but it%26#39;s reasonably safe.

It%26#39;s also very centrally located -- and there are a number of decent and reasonably affordable hotels not too far from the parking in the 16th. (Try Rue Didier -- it%26#39;s the street directly across Av. Kleber and runs down the side of the Cousteau Society offices -- there are several restaurants and reasonable hotels there.)

We did a similar thing a couple of years ago.

We stopped at the Hotel Amandier

For 2 nights it was OK. The rooms were small and so was the breakfast. It is a pleasant walk across a park to the metro into the centre of Paris. Nice views of Paris from the park.
