Hi everyone,
I%26#39; m really looking forward to our 10 day trip to Corsica in june. We will arrive in Bastia by ferry then will drive to Santa Giulia, where we rented an appartment. But how is the road from Bastia to Porto Vecchio? Cause I%26#39; m really scared of tortuous roads next to cliffs without %26quot;safetyside%26quot;. Will I be confronted with that kind of roads between Bastia and Santa Giulia?
Also during our stay we wanted to drive to Bonifacio and to Filitosa? What about that road?
Thanks for your replies...

No problems whatsoever with the road from Bastia to Santa Lucia. It%26#39;s the smoothest road on the island, is wide and pretty much straight. I%26#39;d be surprised if you took any longer than 2 hours tops. No unprotected cliff-edges!
Santa Giulia to Bonifacio is wide and fast although it does get up a little higher and bendier as it reaches Col de Parmentile.
To get over to Sartene, Propriano and Filitosa, the smoothest route is to go down practically into Bonifacio and turn right at a mini-roundabout 2Km from the town onto the N196. It%26#39;s then dull and flat until you get to Lion Rock (and it geuinely does look like a lion!). It%26#39;s then 20Km or so to Sartene (and a further 25Km on to Filitosa) and this is winding but not too scary.
You can have scary (but stunning) by heading NorthWest from Porto-Vecchio on the D368 via Zonza, Quenza and the Col de St Eustache. Tight, winding roads, wonderful views and it%26#39;ll probably take you over 2 hours. Depends whether you get used to the roads but it might be nice to do it as a circular day-trip.
