Anyone been to Le Meridien Montparnasse or Bleu Marine...

Hi there.

I am travelling to Paris in early June to meet friends from Australia. They will be staying in the Meridien Montparnasse. I would ideally like to stay in the same hotel as them, as I am a single woman travelling alone, but the prices for the Meridien are very high, especially as it does not get a great write-up on Trip Advisor.

I have managed to work out that the Bleu Marine Montparnasse is on the same road or street as the Meridien, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how close the two hotels are? For example, if we were coming back from dinner by taxi, would it be possible for them to walk back to Le Meridien from the Bleu Marine, or would it be some distance?

Any information would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks

The two hotels are probably less than 100 yards apart on opposite sides of the street.

Belledejour: Although the address of the hotel is on the Rue du CRM, it%26#39;s kind of deceiving in that the it really sits on the Place de Catalonge, right at the end of CRM. It is attached to (but at the end of) that sprawling complex of buildings where the SNCF is located, directly across the street from the Meridien. It%26#39;s probably about a 3 minute walk from hotel lobby to hotel lobby.

It might be worth your time to contact the Meridien directly and let them know you would like to stay there with your fiiends, but that the Bleu Marine has offered you a better rate. They may match it.

I have stayed at the Bleu Marine Montparnasse last september. It is just across the street from Le Meridien. It is a smaller hotel (in terms of size not of services) and I think you will enjoy it better.

I made the mistake to stay at LE MEridien Montparnasse in the past; the hotel is impersonnal and rooms and bathrooms old. Bleu Marine, which is across the street is a newly built hotel, so i supose it has nicer rooms and up to date amenities.

The Meridien has some renovated and some non-renovated rooms. Bleu M. is a new hotel, as mentioned.

Hello,

My wife and I stayed at Bleu Marine last October for our honeymoon and found the hotel and rooms to be very clean and the room was large by European standards. The front desk staff are also pleasant to deal with. They also have a great buffet breakfast.

We liked it so much that we will be returning again this October. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Montparnasse metro station which you can get to pretty much anywhere in the city from.
