Bercy, Paris

There is a studio in Bercy for two people available for US$ 750. Does anyone know about that area? Is it safe? How far is it from major attractions such as Louvre, Eiffel tower? I hope someone can help me so I can make up my mind whether to reserve it or not.

Thank you.

Bercy is ok, not central but has the best metro line in Paris : line 14, the newest line, without driver so when there is a strike this line still works. It is modern Paris, although they found some boats about 6000 years old in the area. Cour St Emilion is a nice small area with several cafés and restaurants. The rest is a bit dead. I have not been there late at night but i should believe it is safe.Line 14 will take you in 10 minutes or less to Châtelet, the main metro station, and you can get off at Pyramides for the LOuvre. Then the Louvre is five minutes walk from Pyramides station.So this line is very convenient. For the Eiffel tower you would need to change but the tower is not central anyway, so even if you lived in the center you would still need to change from one metro to the other.

Are you staying next to Bercy Village or Bercy 2 (a big mall) ? Those areas are very different from each other. Bercy Village is nice, as Raphy said, but Bercy 2 and its surroundings are a working class area with no charm, and can be a little bit scary at night. Can you give me the studio address and I will be able to tell you more details ?

Hi,

Now, you got me scared. I already reserved it and I don%26#39;t have an address to give you, but the place is called Residence Bercy Paris.

Thank you

If it is near the Bercy or Cour St Emilion métro, then you don%26#39;t have to worry. If it is near Bercy2, then there are not many people around at night, i still don%26#39;t believe it as dangerous.

The Bercy Metro also has line 6, which is mostly above ground and takes you to the Tour Eiffel and Arc de Triomphe.

There is also Bus 24 which will take you to Latin Quarter and Orsay Museum.

The Pierre Vacances hotel chain has a %26quot;Residence Bercy Paris%26quot; property directly next to Bercy Village and that%26#39;s not a bad thing. It%26#39;s a nice, safe and convienient area, thanks to the Metro line-14 as has been pointed out. No reason to be scared!! If that%26#39;s your hotel, you%26#39;re going to be fine. We know this hotel chain well. They offer no-frills but clean and comfortable rooms at very reasonable prices. We%26#39;ve had very good luck with them and don%26#39;t have any negative reviews to offer.

Thank you to all. I think the hotel is in Bercy Village. I checked on the internet. Is US$ 750 a reasonable price for Paris? That%26#39;s is what I was told.

|||

Is the US$ 750 per night? per week? To comment on whether or not the price is reasonable we need to know how many nights you get for that price. Please clarify.

Sorry Gichelle,

I did not want to scare you but I know very well those areas as I live close to Bercy Village and my baby-sitter lives close to Bercy 2.We have to drive her back home at night because she is scared of her neighborhood.

If your hotel is close to Bercy Village, then it is great and you will enjoy it a lot : many restaurants, shops and the metro line 14 (he best!).Very safe area!!
