Heading over to Normandy this week , looking at my maps of the Paris underground system and if one can be so kind as to name me the best route from CDG.... via the RER B3 line down into the city and then to Gare St %26#39; Lazare ? Get off at Gare du Nord ????
Merci and I hope everyone is doing well out there today on the Paris forum. Will plan to write a travel journal and share my experiences with all here ....when I return !

the Roissy Bus will spit you off right at the Opera - then it%26#39;s just a few blocks walk - easy.

Since you are asking about the RER, take it to Gare du Nord.
Exit the station by the northeast door. Take the 43 bus, direction Neuilly-Bagatelle.
Use this to locate the bus stop.

You can also get there by Metro, with one transfer.

There%26#39;s another option, RER B to Gare du Nord and change to the RER E1 to Gare St. Lazare.

Thank all of you so much for the help and insights....looking forward to returning to a very special place in world history and paying my respect to those who given us the freedom%26#39;s we have today in Europe and here in the USA! Thanks again for the directions..have a great day !

If I%26#39;m not mistaken it%26#39;s a bit of a hike from the Gare du Nord RER station to the line E1 Magenta (Gare du Nord) station and the same from the RER Haussman St Lazare station to the SNCF Gare St Lazare.
It%26#39;s also more of a schlepp from Place de l%26#39;Opera to Gare St Lazare than I would like to do with heavy luggage.
With luggage I%26#39;d take the RER to Gare du Nord and then a taxi for the fairly short ride to Gare St Lazare.
TCUNC76, have a great trip!

You could take RER B to Chatlet and change to the Metro #14 that stops at St. Lazare.

Irish, you%26#39;re absolutely correct. If a cab is in the budget, good advice. If not, R1Racer%26#39;s is the best advice. It%26#39;s mostly escalators and very few stairs (and an elevator if you%26#39;re so inclined) at Chatelet and the line 14 platforms are near the RER. Line 14 is FAST. Best suggestion yet.
