Hi,
Does anyone know of hotels within walking distance of Residence du Roy, address 8 Rue Francois 1ER, Paris 75008? We are travelling to Paris next week where we hope my Mother can join us for a few days (she will be coming from Scotland). We are staying at this hotel but were not able to book a room for her there.. My searches reveal many hotels in the 8th arrondissement and surroundings but I do not know how close they are to where we will be staying as I am unfamiliar with Paris. I will appreciate any help you can give me either with names of hotels or websites that let me search by address if possible(?). Also names of nearby grocers where we can pickup basics like snacks for the kids without paying tourist prices would be great.

Rue Francois 1er is in the 8th , left of the Champs Elysees when you look at the Arc de Triomphe.
It is perpendicular to Avenue Montaigne.
Any hotel on Goerges V, Montaigne, Chemps Elysees (Marriott), rue Vernet and any street in that area would work well.
Look at map and go from there.
Hotel Prince de Galles in reasonably priced compared to others in that area called %26quot;le triangle d%26#39;or%26quot; where prices can be steep.
You may have to go to Monoprix on Champs Elysees or to a market like President Wilson.

I can suggest you 3 nice 4star hotels close to La Residence Du Roy:
Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysees(www.hotelmarignan.fr and www.summithotels.com)
Hotel San Regis(www.slh.com)
and Sofitel Champs Elysees(www.sofitel.com)
There is also Plaza Atheneee on ave.Montaigne , but prices start from 500euros a night.

Thank you for all the suggestions and website links, they were very helpful. I am now in a much better position to make a selection. Once again I appreciate the help.

i really liked the hotel vernet, ive stayed there and they have awesome reviews. its charming, and accomodating. the summit marigian is also not bad, a bit more modern than the vernet- and i do believe that alain ducasse%26#39;s %26quot;spoon%26quot; is on the ground floor... i had an apt in the building night next to it last summer.
