Help! (Not that I%26#39;m complaining) but... Are there whole wheat choices in the boulangeries? Are there sugar substitutes for all those coffees? Are there any low fat healthy choices? Going to be in the Dordogne area, Provence, and the Riviera.
Thanks in advance!

Bring your own sugar substitues, you won%26#39;t find them on the tables on France. Boulangeries have country breads that are heavier grain breads, but not for premade sandwiches, usually. You can often sustitute green beans (haricots verts) for the fries with a meal, but at least in the Dordogne don%26#39;t expect to do any other substituting.
Your best bet, accept that you%26#39;re on vacation and try the local foods. Go to the town markets to find great fresh fruits %26amp; veggies. Sarlat has a wonderful market on Saturday, and a smaller one on Wednesday. If you do as the French by walking alot and eating only at meals, gaining weight isn%26#39;t a problem.

If your questions relate to weight issues only, then unless you totally %26quot;over%26quot;-indulge you%26#39;ll probably loose weight ~ and not gain. That is my experience every year because of all the walking. But by all means ~ bring your own sweeteners!

I%26#39;m with soames...don%26#39;t sweat it so much...
I%26#39;m not saying throw it all out the window and nuzzle up to the trough, but when you look back at your holiday when you get back, which are you going to regret more...that you gained a pound or two, or that you missed out on what could be your only chance to try really special dishes?
You%26#39;re sunk for breakfast -- croissants, white bread, and wonderful fruit preserves.
Just try to be sane, and *enjoy* the experience -- like soames said, if you%26#39;re even remotely under control, you%26#39;ll likely lose anyway....the food is healthier, you%26#39;re out in the sun and walking....but don%26#39;t let your weight manage your vacation.
