Has anyone stayed at both and can give an opinion on which one is nicer/cleaner/quieter, etc? We are trying to decide between the two for September. I am a travel snob and want something good...please help.

I have stayed at the Montalembert on occasion and been very impressed. It is very sleek and modern. (well, some rooms are modern and others are more traditional). THe service is top notch and the location is perfect near Rue du Bac, not far from Musee d%26#39;Orsay and just across the river from the Louvre. Very quiet, residential area.
I know K/K is supposed to be nice too. I have no first-hand experience but I doubt you can go wrong at either place.
Just remember the rooms are small.

We stayed at the K%26amp;K Cayre last summer and the description above also fits the K%26amp;K. Very modern feel to it, has a nice breakfast including eggs, bacon, and all the more traditional items (croissants, fruit, cereal, etc.). The staff was helpful, the rooms were actually a pretty good size, and the bathrooms had heated tile floors which was nice. We had to book two adjoining rooms so we were limited on our view, but I understand some of the upper floors have nice views.
The location is ideal for the metro Rue du Bac. I don%26#39;t think you could be any closer to a station than this hotel. It%26#39;s not even across the street -- it%26#39;s halfway across the street in the center divider.
One nice little plus -- there%26#39;s a little mini-mart in the underground Shell Station directly next door which had fresh bread, bottled water, etc.
