We are travelling to Italy in September and our flight how has an overnight layover in France. We arrive at about 4:30 PM and depart at about noon the following day. My husband and I have never been to Paris and would like to take advantage of the short time that we are there to do some sightseeing. We would like to stay close enough the major sights to be able to access them relatively easily but yet don%26#39;t want to have a very long trip from/to the airport. We are able to use points to stay for free at Best Westerns. Does anyone have any suggestions for a specific BW or even a general area of Paris that would be a good middle ground so that I could narrow down my search a bit?
Thanks!

I forgot to also ask what should we plan to do or see in such a limited amount of time? The Eiffel Tower is of course a must, but anything else?

Take a taxi into town. Stay near the river ( near Notre Dame is nice) , walk around outside of Notre Dame, walk across bridge to Latin Quarter for dinner, then, take one of the river cruises at night, see the lights and be entranced, regret bitterly that you only have one night in the most beautiful city in the world.

The Best Western St-Germain would be nice, but September is high season in Paris and you may have trouble getting a hotel for that month this late (many hotels are fully booked for September and October by now).
Try the Best Western site? Look for hotels in the f1st, 6th, or 7th arrondissements.
The ride from the airport takes about an hour, depending on traffic. I assume you%26#39;re talking about Charles de Gaulle airport.
