Hi,
We hope to go to Corsica next year (me, husband and 4yr old son).
We are looking for a nice beach, small town/village close to the beach and restaurants within walking distance.
One brochure we have only has two regions available: Santa Giulia or Porto Pollo-does anyone have any recommendations as to which we should choose?
Also-is car hire essential in Corsica?
Thanks

I %26#39;m no authority on those locations, but I would recommend looking at other places as well so you can compare them
I would also recommend hiring a car. Without a car, unless you go to the Balagne region and stay fairly near one of the stations on the little coastal train line, you could find it difficult getting around. You%26#39;ll also want to go into the mountains, I expect... Could be tricky on foot with a little %26#39;un!
The beach trains don%26#39;t run in the evenings, so this effectively means that if you don%26#39;t get a car you%26#39;d have to stay near the centre of Calvi or Ile Rousse. Train timetable by the way can be found on www.corsicabus.org.
