A hotel in Calais

We%26#39;re arriving in Calais late, 8.30 pm, and want a small, comfortable hotel and good food. There may be somewhere in Calais - but haven%26#39;t found it yet. Has anyone else?

I stay in Calais sometimes up to 3 times every week for work. I have stayed in virtually every hotel there is:

Holiday Inn Calais Nord: What you would expect from a Holiday Inn really. Recently renovated rooms are clean and you get everything you want. Only BBC1 on the tv as British channels go though. Good restaurant and bar, nice breakfast. Close to the town centre. Make sure you put your car in one of thier garages (8 Euros per night) as I have had my car broken into when it was outside and know other people who have as well.

Hotel Maurice: Really nice, rather large family run hotel just off the main bar/restaurant street in the town. Rooms are rather luxurious for a 3 star, you get duvets instead of sheets which i find rare in a hotel these days! Cheap room service, basic breakfast though. Good secure underground car park. All UK terrestrial channels.

George V: On the main bar/restaurant street. Unlike its famous Paris namesake, this is not so luxurious. Rooms are tiny and very basic, although you do get 4 UK terrestrial channels. Decent restaurant downstairs, although pricey. I have found the hotel reception staff rude on many occasions. There are better hotels in Calais for the money.

Suite Hotel, Coquelles: This is one of the newly built hotel just outside Cite Europe/Channel Tunnel terminal. All rooms are spacious and have big double beds, large bath with seperate shower, big desk, sofa bed and deviders if you want to make it into 2 smaller rooms if the sofa bed is needed. Plus there is a microwave in your room, with fridges in the lobby selling meals if you dont want to go out and eat. All 4 UK terrestrail channels. 2 minute walk to Cite Europe, 5 minutes by car to Calais town centre. My favorite place to stay in the area.

Holiday Inn, Coquelles: Very large and spacious hotel overlooking the Channel Tunnel site. Quiet rooms and surroundings, nice bar (although pricey), only BBC1 on the TV though. Great breakfast. Nice clean rooms with MASSIVE gorgeous baths. Formerly The Copthorne Hotel. Very nice place to stay.

Hope this is of use to people!
